Zhenya Gerson

Zhenya, an I-ACT Certified Colon Hydrotherapist, with Level 2 study and certification, Holistic Nutritionist, Wellness Consultant and Yoga Instructor with 16 years in the wellness industry, is driven to empower people to be aware of their own bodies, to live a healthy life and make conscious decisions about their own health and for their personal wellbeing.

Zhenya’s passion for gut health and yoga began while living in California discovering for herself what proper nutrition meant, what lifestyle choices were best for her own total health, and how to implement that into day-to-day living in this busy 21st century. She has completed study with University of Phoenix, American College of Healthcare Sciences, Advanced Yoga Certification and continued learning with experts in the field of Naturopathy and Gut Health.

At the American College of Healthcare Sciences she gained a Certification in Holistic Nutrition and Wellness Consulting and has been teaching yoga for the last 10 years in Australia, the United States and also the Maldives where she spent a year at the Conrad Resort as a Yoga Teacher and Spa Consultant.

When not at Exhale, Zhenya can be found teaching yoga classes and workshops in and around the Sutherland Shire, Cronulla and Sydney area. She started dabbling in yoga since the late 90’s while living NY, and has loved it since then. Her practice became serious a few years later in San Diego, CA when she was suffering from a very bad case of sciatica.  She says, “Yoga helped warm my muscles and began to ease my sciatica after a few short months and my body felt better than ever. I knew yoga was here to stay in my life.”

Zhenya’s first yoga teacher training was with Erich Schifmann in Venice, CA at Sacred Movement.  Since then she has taken classes and participated in immersions all over the world from different teachers and styles, John Friend, Shiva Rea, Kathryn Budig, Amy Ippolitti and Jessica Stickler to name a few. Zhenya strongly believes it is important to keep learning and being refreshed by senior teachers.  When not teaching herself she likes to check out the Jivamukti classes in Newtown as well as exploring the many different yoga studios in Sydney.

Zhenya has recently introduced her Yoga in Gratitude classes in Cronulla. It is the first community yoga by donation in the area so that classes can be easily accessible to anyone. She also enjoys working one on one with new student who range from beginners to athletes to the advanced yogi looking to deepen their practice.

Zhenya has discovered that there is no “one size fits all” approach to total health. Overall total health must be a combination of the three pillars of health – Physical/Biological, Psychological and Spiritual. Over the years of teaching yoga and colonic treatments she has seen the strong link first hand when working with clients and students. Balance is key for every aspect of total body and mind wellbeing.

She is passionate about treating and educating clients so they achieve greater health and vitality and she encourages clients and students to embrace total wellbeing and optimal health from the inside out.

She has helped numerous people with a wide range of health problems from skin disorders to chronic digestive issues, with clients reporting feeling younger, fitter, healthier and having a new zest for life.

Her well-rounded background in wellness, matched with her compassion for clients, ensures each individual at Exhale is treated with respect and dignity in a friendly, caring and professional environment.
